NORTHAMPTON — City firefighter Jesse Rosnick became an Easter hero when he rescued a little girl's bunny after it ran under a porch and apparently refused to come out.

Rosnick responded to a Riverside Drive address around 12:40 p.m. Sunday for a report of an "Easter bunny under (the) porch," according to an online post by Fireground360, the Facebook page and Twitter feed maintained by area first responders.

Rosnick could not immediately be reached for comment, but he's already receiving plaudits for his good deed.

"That's awesome!!" Crystal Weagle said on Fireground's Facebook page.

"My hero!" added Meaghan Ahearn.
