A Medical Fund for Jeffrey Muñoz

During what he thought was just a regular Friday night drive home on his moped, Jeff Munoz's life was drastically altered forever when he was involved in a near fatal accident, leaving devastating injuries to his spine. That evening, Jeffrey lay unconscious on the pavement with a shattered helmet, before being rushed to the hospital where today he still remains over 6 weeks later. Amongst the injuries there was a complete loss of feeling in his legs due to a factured spinal cord injury. This required an emergency spinal cord surgery and a very painful recovery process which Jeff is now undergoing to regain some semblence of the life which he used to know.
Those of you who know Jeff knows, he is a jokster, a happy-go-lucky person with a beautiful soul and has an amazing gift in which he uses to create beautiful stoyboard and illustrations. When he regained conciousness and woke up from the surgery, he said "I'm just happy to be alive, and that I can still use my hands to create." A more inspiring and positive outlook on the whole situation is rarely found by many facing a new existence such as this.
Even still, the fact remains that the feeling in Jeff's legs (misection down), has not yet been recovered. The financial hardship that accompanies this type of diagnosis is setting in on Jeff and his family as they try to focus on his healing, getting him the medical equipments like beds, wheelchairs and other accessories for his recovery and getting him strong again!
While the outcome is still unknown for how much Jeff will be able to do as he continues rehab, the Dana and Christopher Reeve Foundation state that the average expense for the first year as a paraplegic could be as high as $518,000 (a quote from 2016, indicating that by now, the medical expenses could be even higher).
Many of you have been so wonderful reaching out and asking how you can help our dear friend Jeff, beyond visiting, positive thoughts and much needed prayers. Supporting Jeff with whatever you can give to help allieveiate the financial burden would be greatly appreciated, and would help Jeff and his family be together working on his steps forward in his new condition.
