With the UBook, a collaborative and intuitive interaction is created between and among users and devices. With versatility of the hardware, the operating system and the SDK, the UBook can be transformed from one virtual machine to another with a simple touch of a button. Today, NAJMTEK’s hardware, software and SDK has been used to create an enhanced learning tool for those with dyslexia and tomorrow, it can be turned into an ultrasound machine, an EKG machine, a diagramming or designing tool, a notepad or most any other business or personal tool imaginable. Founded in 2014, NAJMTEK is based in Houston, Texas.

Ubook was born based on the facts that touch technology will be here soon to stay and grow, that laptops were already parts of our daily life, and that they need to evolve to the current state they were to become more dynamic, more comfortable, more intuitive, and easy to use to everyone.

Ubook means Universal Notebook, but also ‘Your’ Notebook, the one of your dream, fully customizable to get exactly what you would like it to be. Thus it can be used by anyone, in the creative global space from medicine, science and technology, to entertainment through education.

However, the co-founders decided to first target the medical field where there is a huge potential for remote applications, but also humanitarian purpose, healthcare for disable users and education where it can be such a helpful tool especially for kids with special needs.

What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?
We are bringing one single device on the market, no matter where you are living, it will be the same. However, we will provide an online application store, where you will be able to find thousands of apps, immediately downloadable to your computer. Thus you can get what you need, which may be completely different from what your neighbor needs. And if you cannot find exactly what you want, you will be able to develop it by yourself with or Software Development kit. Ubook is a truly complete solution for your everyday life!

What challenges did you face in your initial years? What can your peers learn from it?
When you decide to start a new venture, you are always facing challenges. First, it’s time consuming, and there is nothing to do to change this. You have to go step by step, as the bird do to build his nest. For us, it took several years, waiting also the market to be ready!

Then you have to be very passionate, and prove that your idea is viable. You will face people that will try to discourage you, to make you give up, but there are exactly the right people you have to learn from to build your offer and make it stronger!

And third in our case, trying to enter a market where huge brands are already established, and which is a male dominated sector is not easy, but, determination is the key.

Be passionate and determined, trust yourself, and you will overcome any challenge!

What do you feel are the reasons behind your product popularity?
People nowadays are feeling overwhelmed by their job, but also but the multiple devices they are using over the years and that are not very easy manageable all together. One device for each situation is a lot, and they always missed something, some tools, some files…

Ubook is an all-in-one device, environmentally friendly product, fully customizable according to your needs or wishes, that will perfectly fit all your communication and device input needs, wherever you will be. Sophie Ennadi, CEO and Co-founder: Sophie holds an European Master’s Degree in Engineering with High Honors. She is a Stanford Certified Project Manager (SAPM), with a solid experience in quality and car industry.

Abder Ennadi, CTO and Co-founder: Abder has a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design. He is a Certified Microsoft MCSE and has been an International Inventor for several years. Abder designs new solutions in various areas (Airbus, F1, etc).

Together, the co-founders of NAJMTEK have 30 years of entrepreneurship, 12 years of product development, 13 years of International team management and 11 years of engineering experience.
