Sewailo (pronounced “Say-why-loâ€) Golf Club is laid out in the high Sonoran Desert and stands as the hallmark of a new golf experience that reflects the beauty and spirit of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. Extensively designed with creeks, ponds, lakes and waterfalls results in one of the most remarkable courses in the Southwest. Managing the course is Troon Golf - the undisputed worldwide leader in top-shelf golf experiences.
The Yaquis, who migrated from Mexico to Arizona more than 2,500 years ago, are said to have come from the "flower land," or Sewailo as it's known in their language. This golf course, designed by renowned Native American golfer Notah Begay III, illustrates that history.
Water features on ten of the 18 holes. These are not just your standard irrigation ponds. They are extensively designed creeks, ponds, lakes and waterfalls.
The streams/creeks at Sewailo are over 1.75 (almost 2) miles in length.
12 acres of lakes not including small aesthetic ponds.
Streams and creeks were designed to be as natural looking as possible.
Multiple natural looking waterfalls (13 tees, 10 green, 10 fairway, 18, practice area, nine green and number 2 right side)
