RESULTSThe St. John Fisher College men's tennis team ran its winning streak to three matches on Tuesday after downing Alfred University 5-4 at Mendon Racquet Club. With the win, Fisher improves to 7-8 on the season, while the Saxons dip to 10-7.
Sheldon Mitchell and
Nathaniel Ligon continued their dominance in singles competition as each picked up a point for the Cardinals. Mitchell posted a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, while Ligon bested his opponent 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Adam Moran and
Kyle Stich rounded out the scoring in one-on-one competition, winning their matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Fisher's final point came at No. 3 doubles as Moran paired up with
Daniel Tedesco for an 8-2 victory.
The Cardinals will look to make it four wins in a row on Saturday when they travel to Oneonta to take on the Hartwick College Hawks.
