Officers injured, Palm Beach

Two officers were injured during a violent struggle at Palm Beach last night.

Police, responding to a duress alarm activation at a Gold Coast Highway petrol station around 9.55pm, were confronted by a highly agitated and aggressive man.

It will be alleged the man threatened police and during a violent struggle, which included the deployment of OC spray and a taser, two male officers sustained laceration or puncture wounds from a bladed weapon.

Both officers were transported to hospital where one received sutures to a leg puncture wound and the other treatment to a minor laceration to a forearm. Both officers have since been released.

The man was eventually restrained and arrested. He was transported to the Robina  Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police investigations are continuing with officers appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who may have recorded the incident, to contact Crime Stoppers.
