Logan Hardware, West Elm 14th St NW projects near completion

Two adjacent retail/office projects by District developer Perseus Realty are nearing completion.

One project, the renovation and combination of two townhouses into one building at 1734 14th Street NW, will become Logan Hardware's new location and corporate headquarters. Next door, at 1728 14th St. NW, West Elm will be moving in.

The West Elm building is “70 percent completed,” says Bob Cohen, president of Perseus Realty, who expects to turn the building over to tenants in May in order for them to customize the interior for their use.  The building should be occupied and open by the end of September.

The Logan Hardware building is running about a month later, says Cohen.

Both buildings are fully leased. The 30,000-square-foot West Elm building boasts two floors of retail and two floors of offices. Architecture firm Bonstra Haresign will also be moving in. The Logan Hardware building is 15,000 square feet, with two floors of retail and one floor of offices.

Neither building has a restaurant tenant. "We felt there were enough restaurants on 14th Street,"  says Cohen.

The total cost for both projects is $20 million. “It’s a great location and a very successful project,” says Cohen.
