Every church deals with conflict. Organizationally, this conflict must be addressed in ways that differ from dealing with conflict on a personal level. At one extreme, churches can be so affirming and accepting that nothing is ever addressed resulting in spiritual anarchy. At the other extreme, churches can become so confrontational that the church becomes toxic. Scripture gives clear guidelines on how to deal with conflict and issues of sin within the church. When these principles are understood and embraced, discipline becomes a healing and restoring force rather than a toxic and punitive action.
