Assault charges, Ipswich

Two men aged 18 and 20-years-old have been charged following an investigation into a number of assaults that allegedly occurred at an Ipswich school yesterday afternoon.

It will be alleged, around 4.40pm police responded to reports that eight students and two teachers were being assaulted by two men on Darling Street.

They suffered bruising and scratches during the incident and one student sustained a suspected broken hand.

Police will further allege a vehicle owned by the school was also damaged by the men.

An 18-year-old man from Sadliers Crossing was charged with five counts of common assault and one count of unlawful entry of a motor vehicle for committing an indictable offence using violence.

A 20-year-old-man from North Ipswich was charged with three counts of common assault, two counts of wilful damage and assault occasioning bodily harm.

They are due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court July on 29, 2014.
