This is the moment a Scottish groom's pals performed a Haka for delighted wedding guests on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Players from Garnock Rugby Club learned the traditional Maori war dance over six weeks after bride Alyson Reid asked them to surprise their team mate Graeme with the routine at the Butorich Castle in Balloch .

She also pulled out all the stops with a rugby-themed reception, complete with ticket style invites and rugby ball centrepieces – so the Haka was the icing on the cake.

Alyson, 29, said: "When I asked the guys they seemed quite nervous, as they didn't think they could learn it or keep it a secret!

"But 15 of them got together and rehearsed two to three times a week. It's such an emotional dance. Some of them even admitted they would tear up after rehearsals."

Is this the worst Haka ever?

The Haka is an ancient war dance which originated among Maori tribespeople in New Zealand. It is also ritually used by the country's rugby teams before matches to challenge their opponents.

The troupe was led by Graeme's two best men Chucky Wilson and Jamie Holmes, who he has known for 15 and 20 years respectively.
