You can now own pieces of Guthrie history and at the same time help local children this Christmas with an online auction.

M&S Auction

Officer Jason Hamilton displays the Stopover flag and banner that are now up for auction to help Christmas with Cops.

Last September, Guthrie was one of five U.S. cities to host a Stopover that was highlighted with a concert from Grammy-winning Mumford & Sons. Throughout the event several flags and banners were displayed throughout the city. Now, they are up for auction.

Jam Productions has donated several flags, banners and other memorabilia to the Guthrie Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 105 that were flown and used during the Stopover Tour. 100 percent of the money raised will go towards the “Christmas With Cops” program.

“Christmas with Cops”  is a program is designed to have officers shop and spend time getting to know the children who were selected to participate. This event provides a merrier holiday season and allows the children to spend time with law enforcement officers in a positive setting.

The Christmas with Cops committee receives names of parents that may be struggling this year from our patrol officers, local organizations and families that are requesting help. The committee then invites selected families to an event held at Walmart, where each child is paired with an officer who spends time with them, helping them pick out Christmas presents for themselves and other family members. Each child is allowed to spend up to $100.

Each year is a struggle with the growing number of people requesting help, but the officers raise enough to allow 50 to 75 children enjoy a different Christmas.

The local program would not be possible without the support of the local Guthrie businesses, the City of Guthrie and the Guthrie FOP. The Guthrie FOP is always accepting donations, which are used exclusively for the Christmas with Cops program. You can donate anytime by calling the Guthrie Police Department at 405-282-3535.
