You may remember the three branches of government from high school civics class, but do you really know how the court system works? This month, we'll look at state and federal courts and the mechanics of litigation in each. We'll discuss everything from filing a "small claim" to bringing an appeal before the Supreme Court of Virginia so that the next time you have a dispute brewing, you'll have an idea of the alternative paths available for resolving it.
