In the wake of the tragic death of Marlins starting pitcher Jose Fernandez and two of his friends, a beachgoer in Miami stumbled upon a personal bag -- apparently of Fernandez's -- that washed ashore and contained four autographed baseballs and his checkbook:

There also appears to be an iPhone charger in that bag.
This was obviously a personal bag of Fernandez's that he was carrying around with him. It is possible that Fernandez often carried around signed baseballs with him to hand out to fans he stumbled upon. There doesn't really seem like a more logical explanation, but this remains another sad anecdote of the many gut-wrenching stories that coming out of this terrible tragedy.
