KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Nov. 24, 2014) – Oklahoma Christian's women's soccer team was named Monday as a Team Academic Award recipient by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
To qualify for the honor, team members had to post a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 for the entire 2013-14 academic year.
With a 3.11 team GPA, the Lady Eagles – coached by
Randall Robison – were one of 582 collegiate women's teams to qualify for the honor. OC's men's team also earned the award, making the university one of 188 schools that had both programs recognized by the NSCAA.
Only one other Heartland Conference women's team received the NSCAA academic honor.
On the 2013-14 squad, OC had one player –
Carley Cave Keesee – earn National Christian College Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete status.
