Sherwin-Williams has just debuted its new color of the year for 2018: a rich, bluish-green jeweled toned hue appropriately named Oceanside. The color is a fun, bold choice for Sherwin-Williams, who picked the color for its both its accessibility and its statement appeal.
"Green-blues in deep values, such as Oceanside, respond to changes in light, which is a quality that creates intense dimension," says Sue Wadden, the director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams. “It is a tremendously versatile color, and harmonizes with other diverse color groups." The color is fit for both interior and exterior spaces, so consider the shade for a bedroom accent wall, a new look for a home office, or a pop of color on the front door. It pairs well with the current aesthetic en vogue, midcentury-modern, and is a contemporary update with white marbles and copper metallic tones. The shade plays well with other colors, so feel free to go bold and mix it with statements like corals and yellows, or pair it with other calming shades of blue.
