Daisy Howell - Northern School of Contemporary Dance

DAISY HOWELL

Dancer

Welsh born and proud, Daisy began dancing from a young age, successfully transitioning from living room performances to the Hammond School Associates and the Lowry CAT Scheme Manchester. On the CAT scheme she worked with Phoenix Dance Theatre, Glen Wilkinson, Company Chameleon and performed as part of the 'Hot House' project at the Royal Opera House. She was also a full time member of the New Dance Youth Company in North East Wales and was a five year long company dancer with National Youth Dance Wales, creating and touring work by Errol White, Davina Givan, Theo Clinkard, Odette Hughes, Kerry Nicholls and Ellesha Drennan.

At 18 Daisy began her training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she worked with choreographers Hannes Langolf and Gary Clarke, as well as beginning and directing her own dance company, Brink Dance Company, with her work being performed across Manchester and Leeds-based theatres and festivals. She has also developed her interest in digital design by beginning her recent choreographic collaboration with animation company ‘Howl Creative’, commissioned by the SHINE emerging artist programme 2017. This year she gained a First Class BA (Hons) from NSCD, as well as successfully gaining a position on the Studio Wayne McGregor Peer Development Programme. Daisy is thrilled to be part of Verve 2018 and can not wait to begin touring and performing as part of the company!
