Why Kapisanan?

My participation within the CLUTCH program...is the first time where I was challenged to embrace my "Filipina-ness" amongst a collective of empowering, talented, like-minded individuals...

- Veronica Abrenica, 23 yrs. old CLUTCH Vol. 6 participant 2014
Networking with young artists like myself, assisted me in "finding" myself because I was allowed the space to cultivate and to learn. It was especially significant to work alongside Filipino artists who've been in the industry for longer and have first hand experience because it demonstrated the possibilities of being a Filipino artist in an environment where not many Filipinos are visible, let alone Filipino artists.

- Sean Kua, 22 yrs. old NAVIGATION participant 2014

Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture is a multiple award-winning (1 2 | 3), youth-led charitable community organization based in Toronto. We create a safe space for Filipino-Canadian youth, both second generation and newcomers, to overcome multiple barriers that prevent them from meaningful engagement in society. At Kapisanan, youth activate their creativity to explore identity, fostering pride and self-confidence, inspiring and empowering them to realize their full potential.

Our multi-purpose facility in Kensington Market is also available for rentals.

Armed with an appetite for creative endeavours and community advancement, here at the K, we eat art and inspiration.

Come you eat now.
Halina, kain na.
