Southern Highlands favorite Barcelona Tapas Bar & Restaurant is expanding 13 miles to the north, into the Artisan Hotel Boutique at the the western edge of Downtown.
Becoming the hotel’s primary dining option, it replaces the shuttered Mood Restaurant and chef Edgar Montes De Oca will be adding some of his new dishes to the menu, plus popular choices found at his seven-year-old restaurant in the southwest.
Promised to debut Aug. 19, but now touted as "coming soon," opening hours are scheduled to be Sunday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 2 a.m.

The room has been given a complete makeover to bring it up to date with recent upgrades throughout the hotel.
Open daily for breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m, items include a $11.99 "Matador breakfast," created with filet mignon, two eggs, Barcelona beans and fried plantains and the $10.00 "Fiesta Brava" omelet, highlighted by jalapenos, bell peppers, Spanish chorizo and red or green sauce.
Lunch includes sandwiches such as a $10.99 Cuban option, a range of tacos, soups and salads. On the late-night menu available after 11 p.m, papatas bravas, fried calamari, albondigas and empanadas.
