Football Teams Up With Advocacy Center For Domestic Violence Awareness Month
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The University at Albany football program is teaming up with the UAlbany Advocacy Center for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. At Saturday's game versus Colgate, Advocacy Center staff and peer educators will be stationed at the Domestic Violence Awareness Selfie Booth located at the North Gate entrance. There, all are encouraged to take the “It's On Us” pledge and start the conversation against domestic violence.
The pledge is a personal commitment to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault. For more information and to take the pledge, visit itsonus.org.
UAlbany football players and coaches will also be featured in a public service announcement on the video board. Numerous free giveaways will be available at the Selfie Booth where fans are also encouraged to share photos to raise awareness using the hashtag #itsonus or tweeting to @UAlbanyAdvocacy.
