Turnaround

Odagaoka High School
The whole time, in my head, there's a tune playing. It went along the lines of: Take a look outside yourself and you turn around, take a look at who you are, it's pretty scary; Take a look outside the planet, turn around and around, take a look at where you are, it's pretty scary.
I wasn't quite sure why it was on my mind then. Sure, I did happen to listen to it quite some bit from an old beat-up Sony CD player - she would complain about it every so often - but needless to say, it was pretty appropriate for the situation.
But if it were anyone else, there had to be better things to think of. Perhaps final thoughts about family you would leave behind, the soba and coffee you would be missing, the pet cat, or wonder what's on the other side when it's all over - or her. Come to think of it, Noda-kun might have had something on his mind when he did it. But then again, maybe nothing at all. The unreality of it all just began to sink in like a hot bath.
