CHARLESTON, S.C. – Robert Jackson carded a 583 air rifle mark and a 573 smallbore score to earn 11
th and eighth, respectively, in a weekend NCAA rifle match against No. 4 Jacksonville State, No. 7 Nebraska and No. 17 NC State at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
The Gamecocks took the team title with an aggregate score of 4655. The Huskers (4653) finished closely behind while the Wolfpack (4595) landed in third. The Bulldogs notched a team total of 4473, scoring 2279 in air rifle and 2194 in smallbore.
Charles Yeh and
Richard Hunton both fired 572s in air rifle to take second for The Citadel, while
Amber Mills rounded out the top-four scorers with a 561.
In smallbore action
Nathaniel Moy carded a 563 to earn second among his teammates with Hunton (548) and Yeh (542) finishing in third and fourth, respectively.
Jacksonville State's Samantha Bullard earned the individual smallbore crown with a mark of 583 while Rachel Martin of Nebraska carded a 592 air rifle score to take first overall.
The Bulldogs return to action Nov. 1 in the third Southeastern Air Rifle Conference Match of the season held at North Georgia in Dahlonega, Ga.
