The first relay would tell the story of how the rest of the day would unfold for John Carroll in its Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet at crosstown rival Baldwin Walace.
In the 200 medley relay, the "A" quartet of
Megan Hawk,
Lindsey Fano,
Anne Crowley and
Amanda Casamatta went 1:56.51 to win, while the "B" quartet of
Teresa Prinster,
Carly Adams,
Margaret Zagrobelny and
Katii Sheffield finished less than a second later at 1:57.19.
The Baldwin Wallace A relay was not within five seconds of either team.
That race set the tone for what would become a 197-89 win for the Blue Streaks.
ResultsJane Verdi kept the momentum going in the 1000 Free, posting a five second win in 11:23.04. Sheffield followed as she led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 Free. Sheffield won in 2:01.94, with Watson (2:02.02) and Hawk (2:10.55) following in order.
Adams and Zagrobelney produced a strong showing, placing first and second in the 100 Back. Adams clocked in at 1:01.84, while Zagrobelny earned a time of 1:08.61.
Fano (1:09.87), Prinster (1:16.28) and
Emma Connell (1:19.71) were next in the cavalcade, as the Blue Streak trio went 1-2-3 in the 100 Breast.
Baldwin Wallace earned its first win in the 100 fly, but John Carroll responded with a 1-2-3 finish in the 50 Free. Watson (25.64), Casamatta (25.86) and Hawk (27.03) collected 16 points in the race.
After the break for diving, Watson (55.73), Sheffield (57.12) and Casamata had yet another 1-2-3 showing for John Carroll in the 100 free.
In the 200 back,
Amanda Ailkhani (2:26.72) and
Christine Gaab (2:33.40) were the first and second place finishers.
Adams picked up the last two victories for JCU in the 200 Breast and 200 IM.
The Blue Streaks are 7-2 overall and remained undefeated (4-0) in the OAC with victory today.
