Inside: Cracking the Myth of Finding Your Voice (so you can write strong blog posts and better sales copy)
View this email in your browser

Have you "found" your voice, Storyteller?

Of course, you have. Unless there's something physiologically wrong, you've probably been stringing sentences together happily for years now.

So why is it sometimes so hard to say what needs to be said? To write the "epic" blog post? Or create that sales page that works like "magic"?

Some people will tell you that you just need to find your voice. And that can feel overwhelming when you don't know the difference between what you've been using daily for years and what this magical "voice" is supposed to sound like.

Here's the truth: Your voice is there. It just needs a couple of things before it manifests into its fully powerful, persuasive form:

1. Clarity -- you've got to have a clear purpose and mission in mind. You need to KNOW your Why and you've got to have stories to tell that are engaging and relevant; and

2. Skills -- you've got to practice the mechanics of speaking and writing quite a LOT before you get to that place where things just flow. It's kind of like riding a bike. The more you do it, the more confidence you'll gain to try things like jumping off curbs or riding with no hands.

So if you're not writing and publishing blog posts or sales pages because you can never seem to get them perfect, I've got news for you: perfectly powerful only comes after you practice, practice, practice.

In short, if you don't get comfortable with imperfect, you'll never "find" your voice, you'll never write anything worthwhile, and you'll never sell a single thing.

Logically, you already know that. But psychologically, you might feel a little wibbly wobbly about the whole idea of writing those things you know you need to write. (Right?)

Hehe. You're not the only one.

That's EXACTLY why I built the Biz Bloggers' Mastermind program (aka Master the Art of Business Blogging). Because you can read all the How-To Write Better Blog Post articles you want. But that won't actually help your writing improve.

The best way approach this is to find a tight-knit community where you can show up, feel safe, and get the gentle feedback you need to polish your storytelling skills.

Can I introduce you to a former participant? Her name is Stacey Shanks and she's a business coach who works mainly with the alternative health crowd. You can learn more about her here.

When Stacey joined our last round of the Mastermind, she was barely publishing a post once each month. She told me her biggest challenge was, "Overcoming my fear of hitting publish!"

During our 8 weeks together, Stacey finished three solid posts (a 200% increase in her regular output!) and increased her confidence level by 3 points (on a scale of 1 to 10).

She said, "I learned so many tips to keep my ideal reader interested while also staying on track with my overall objective of each piece. I loved this group and would recommend it for anyone who’s got a fear or hesitation of blogging!"

And Stacey is just one of many delighted clients. As a matter of fact, the re-enrollment rate for this program is a solid 35%. (We've got prior participants registered for this round!) That's something you don't often see with these types of programs.

If you'd like the accountability, community support and structured learning environment that comes with being a part of something unique like this, you'll definitely want to act SOON:

The next round of the mastermind begins on September 10th and there are just 3 seats left! If you'd like to join us, enroll here: http://storybistro.com/blog-mastermind-group/

So your blogging is doing fine, but you could really use some help with sales copy? No worries. I've got you covered there, too.

Join us next week for our September Brunch & Learn: How to Tell the Stories that Matter in Your Sales Pages (so Customers Act). << That's a complimentary training, but you must attend live. (Recordings are available later in the month on my Digital Dining Room a la Carte page.)
