OSCAR winner Christopher Walken surprised Colin and Justin by asking them about Easterhouse when he met them on the red carpet.

Our Right at Home design gurus were gobsmacked when the The Deer Hunter and Pulp Fiction actor heard their accents at the Toronto International Film Festival and started talking about his mum Rosealie, who grew up in Glasgow.

The designers were interviewing stars for a Canadian TV channel when the 69-year-old actor stopped to talk to them about the area’s £75million regeneration.

The Hollywood veteran, famed for his chilling on-screen persona, was attending the premiere of his latest film, Seven Psychopaths.

Justin said: “It was awesome interviewing the wonderfully scary Christopher Walken as he held on to a small shih tzu called Bonnie, also a star of Seven Psychopaths.”

Colin added: “He told us that his mum is from Easterhouse and that he’d heard it had changed a lot for the better.”

Colin and Justin, who split their time between Glasgow and Toronto for work, also got the chance to chat to dozens of other stars – including Elton John, Will Smith and his wife Jada, Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes and Bradley Cooper – during the festival.

But the pair fell out over Twilight star Kristen Stewart, who split from fellow actor Robert Pattinson after claims of an affair, and what she was wearing.

Colin said: “I thought her outfit brought a touch of modern femininity to her usually grungy look, quite a feat in an actress known for vampire dramas.”

But Justin added: “I thought she looked like a wrapped boiled sweet and she was very uncomfortable on the carpet – perhaps in light of ‘the incident’.

“Kirsten Dunst, however, who was in the same film, looked awesome. So Hollywood in a pale pink Empire Line frock.”

The designer duo both agreed, though, that Bradley Cooper was “breathtakingly Hollywood handsome”.

Colin added: “Chris Tucker was great fun. We loved him in Rush Hour and he was gentlemanly and fun throughout our interview – and told us he loves Scotland.”

Justin also revealed that Elton John hadn’t planned to do any interviews – until the singer started speaking to them.

He added: “We paved the way for all the other reporters to flood in with questions.”
