Burglary with violence, North Lakes

Detectives are investigating a burglary in which a man was assaulted in a house at North Lakes early this morning.

Around 2.40am two men broke into the Brooklyn Close property before being confronted by a male occupant who armed himself with a baton.

One of the men ran away while a struggled ensued between the other man and the occupant.

During the struggle, the occupant was struck in the head with the baton before the man fled the scene.

Two wallets and other personal items were stolen during the incident.

The 36-year-old man sustained a laceration to his head and was transported to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment.

The first man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s, about 173cm tall with a large build, short hair, tattoos and wearing two gold earrings.

The second man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s, approximately 183cm tall with a large build.
