MY STORY
starts on the Isle of Wight, aged 8. Sat behind my school desk, listening to yet another lecture from my teacher about how I wasn‘t achieving my full potential. Something that I was pretty used to hearing by that point and I wasn’t rushing to make any changes. However, little did I know that my life was about to take an abrupt change in direction. My parents took me out of school on what would turn out to be a holiday that shaped my life as I know it today. That holiday turned into a year long adventure, that ended up in Maui, and as I sat on the beach looking out to sea, I saw my first kite! Lou Waiman emerged from the rocks, body dragged out to sea and then set off on an epic downwind voyage. To give you some perspective on the time frame, that was 1998 and from that moment I have been inexplicably linked to kiteboarding! I immediately fell in love with the promise of limitless possibility that the sport offered, I knew I had to drop windsurfing and peruse the wind in a different way. From that point my life started to revolve around sport, weather it was Kiting, surfing, skating, SUP, Wakeboarding or anything that would deliver the adrenaline that motivated me, it was a reason for me to achieve and a focus that my life previously lacked. Competing on the BKSA UK tour and then moving onto the PKRA world kiteboarding tour I found my feet as a rider and then turned my sights towards pushing the Wakestyle side of the sport and making movies. Competing in the Triple-S contest over in the US for the last six years and following the ever growing wake style circuit has kept me riding, however filming several feature length movies has sparked yet more motivation to ride. Filming has always allowed me to capture the moments that we share, portray the sport how I want it to be seen and create movies that will stand for years to come! So, I guess my story so far has been a story of inspiration. Following the things that I love to do, has brought me to this point in my life and I hope to continue to let my passions carve my direction in life, long into the future! Sun, Sea, Surf, Kite, Film, Fun!
