LOST ALPHA - DEVELOPER'S CUT
Release Announcement
"If you only knew where I've just been and what I've seen". You remember this one? Well it was a long road up until now, but there is finally a sun shining over us brightly. After almost three years, we can confidently announce the release date of Lost Alpha Director's Cut. Let's talk about some other things first though.
Deadlines. We all love them, right? No, really, they suck. But a deadline has to be set for every project, or else it will never be finished. Setting up the deadline is as critical as meeting it. We have a large team of game enthusiasts with years of experience in development. However everyone is doing this project in his free time, and as the years passing by, the less free time we have. Just wanted to mention that it took us so many years to make this DC because we barely had the time for it. I'ts not a completely new game, it's however the game we had in our mind. Initially, we planned to release the game today, on the 10th anniversary of the release of Shadow of Chernobyl outside of the US. Sadly however, this can't be done, which smoothly brings us over to...
The bugs. Yes, we also love bugs, right? Who doesn't? Well, some people do, but exotic cuisine isn't the scope of this project. Bugs are the bane of software developers, and bugs have plagued us from the beginning of development, and even onto the initial release of LA. We admit that the release version wasn't as stable as we wanted it, but it was a rushed decision after the unexpected leak, and that's precisely why we're giving ourselves just a bit more time - to squish the greatest bugs, so DC will be a more polished game than vanilla Lost Alpha was. But in case some bugs manage to escape unnoticed, we plan to update DC post-release, likely also adding some new content. We have 2 new levels in production, and many new features, which we will uncover later this year. Speaking about stuff we have done so far, here is an updated changes log: click here!
The release date. Yes, what everyone was waiting for. The final release date for Lost Alpha Developer's Cut is the 26th of April 2017, 31 years after the tragic events in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant transpired, which many years later insipred the guys at GSC Game World to create one of the greatest game franchises ever. So that's it for today. See you in slightly over a month! Feel free to contact us via e-mail info@dezowave.com, or on Facebook (search for dezowave page and lost alpha group)! By the way, the last screenshot is from one of our new levels in production.

While I was unfortunately disappointed in the previous release version of Lost Alpha, I must admit I'm quite interested in seeing the new updated version, perhaps it'll finally set the bolt in the right direction.

My word, I put off playing LA after the leak to wait for this.

Stunning stunning Announcement!!
I have been waiting for it since it have been announced on moddb, and didn't played the vanilla version (because of the leak) to have the real vision of what you guys wanted to show us, and its finaly appening! Well done!
I love you.
My #1 concern are still the in-game cinematics. Have those been polished and made less cringeworthy?
LOL =D
Great news. Reminds me of how exited I was when the original Lost Alpha released 3 years ago :,)
I think im gonna go hibernate until. Wake me on April 27, 2017. ;)
Great so excited! Thank you all involved!
Badass Bro! Our forum is looking forward to the coming LADC! I'm from China and I've never seen any mod with Chinese language so I developed a machine translation system for STALKER series and their mods(works perfectly for config(s)/text,fine for config(s)/gameplay,but not that good for script). The sentence "- all texts from scripts, configs were moved to text/ folder" you mentioned in the change log does me a big favor! Looking forward to the release day!
WoW it's almost here. I've only played 3 or 4 maps. Now I'll get to see the rest.
Looking forward to it!
FINALLY! I am so excited about lost alpha finally coming, when it was released i finished only half the game and decided to wait for lost alpha DC.
Two Questions :
1 - Can we choose english voices AND text for stalkers?
2 - Can the stashes we find actually be populated with stuff as soon as we find them instead of having to find coordinates after which stuff spawn in them. This was one thing i always hated in stalker games.
I'm really excited. I was wanting to play a new Stalker Campaign, this is worth the wait. Congratulations on your guys progress, I have been following you for years!
So is the storyline finally lore-friendly, or did you guys stick to the amateur and ilLOLminati fanfiction plot?
I'm going to take the lack of a response as a negative. So much for "STALKER as it was supposed to be".
I was hoping to read the word 'performance', mostly if it had a 'better' before. I guess nothing can be done, as the engine is single-threaded it seems and CPU bottlenecks kill the framerate.
Oh well, in the age of remasters I guess we can hope a publisher gets the licence and remaster STALKER in a new engine so we can enjoy nice FPS on decent hardware.
Actually, the XRay engine *is* multi-threaded at a basic level, though the version this mod is based on wasn't as advanced as the (1.6) version used in CoP. Alundaio (Call of Chernobyl) has more info than I:
"Unless you are using an OS older then Windows 7 then the OS should utilize all cores for any multi-threaded application. X-Ray 1.6 has low-level multi-threading despite the rumors that it doesn't. That rumor started from these claims by 4A Games developers who made X-Ray Engine: En.wikipedia.org
But they left before SoC was released and X-Ray engine has seen updates with CS and CoP by the lead programmer now working at Vostok working on Survarium. There is a primary and worker thread as well as physics, sound, lua all have their own dedicated thread which an OS can put on any of your cores as long as you have the proper affinity set in Task Manager (all by default)
CoC engine even has a primary/worker thread sync fix by Nitrocaster which I took from Open X-Ray project. Though, I didn't see any changes in performance when this was added."
This is from the Full-simulation A-Life (CoC add-on) thread:

Is someone planning to make and Arsenal Overhaul compatibility mod for Stalker Lost Alpha ? I've been playing Stalker - Call of Chernobyl with Arsenal Overhaul mod for over one year now. It would be quite painful for me to play Lost Alpha with the vanilla weapons.
You can do it your self? it will only take half a day for you
Wow! I cant wait to play :-)
Can someone point me to the DL link of this release? thank you
Dude seriously, it's a "release announcement."
If you read the article you see that we won't be getting a download until late April.
Yeah i was too excited and thought it was due last month.
