The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team traveled to No. 4 Union College today and suffered its first loss of the 2015 season 15-6.  The Red Dragons got three goals from junior Connor Coyle (Centerport/Harborfields), but the Dutchmen kept the offense in check, as Oneonta only managed 24 shots in the contest.
 
After Union (2-0) scored the opening goal of the game, Coyle tied the score with a man-up goal at the 10:04 mark of the first period.  The Dutchmen then scored three unanswered goals including one with 23 seconds remaining in the first to grab a 4-1 lead.
 
Freshman Alec Solomito (Holtsville/Sachem East) took a feed from classmate Hunter DeLuca (Medford/Patchogue Medford) before putting a shot by the goalie to get Oneonta back to within two goals early in the second.  Union would then run off eight straight goals to put the game out of reach with 8:35 left in the third quarter.
 
The Dutchmen had five players who had at least two goals in the game.  Peter Richardson added a game high three assists to go with one goal to lead Union with four points.
 
The Red Dragons are scheduled to play its home opener this Saturday against Rensselaer.  Faceoff is scheduled for 12pm.
