  • 12/21 Personal (P:) Drives Moving

    To the UConn Community:

University Information Technology Services (UITS) will be moving personal network drives  (P: drives) of all faculty, staff, and students to a new storage system on Wednesday, December 21.

Starting at 5:00 pm and concluding no later than 10:00 pm that evening, UITS will transfer all files from the current system to the new one. No content will be lost. During the migration, you will be able to access files but not save them to the P: drive. You can save files to other locations (e.g., OneDrive, your local storage, external hard drives) and transfer them to the P: drive once service is fully restored.

UITS will notify you via email once your P: drive is migrated. For most of our community, your computer will automatically re-map to the new storage location when you reboot. If you connection is not automatically restored, you will need to make changes to connect to the new file path. UITS provides detailed instructions on manually mapping to the P: drive for macOS and Windows computers. These will be updated with new information during the migration.
