Attention Portsmouth residents: You may now pass “Go” and collect $200.The city of Portsmouth will be featured as a space on the upcoming “Monopoly Here and Now: U.S. Edition” game, Hasbro announced Thursday, the 80th anniversary of the Monopoly brand.Click to watch News 9's coverage.Portsmouth will be featured in the light blue row of properties, alongside Dallas, Texas and Charlotte, North Carolina. In the traditional game, these spaces are held by Connecticut Avenue, Vermont Avenue and Oriental Avenue.Portsmouth was one of 22 American cities voted to appear on the new board game. Nearly 4 million votes were cast in 182 countries.Other winning cities include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston.
