Brazilian photographer Mariana Godoy is on a mission to destroy the stigma surrounding the word "fat." Women who don't have blonde hair, blue eyes, slim hips, and big breasts aren't considered beautiful in Brazil — even though most women in Brazil don't fit into that mold, she explained to Cosmopolitan.com in an email. "There is a lot of prejudice against the word fat there ... people judge and condemn fat people," she said. "This is a fight I really want to win."

A friend gave Godoy the idea for a photo shoot, so she put out a call for volunteers who agreed to be photographed in lingerie and with slogans protesting fatphobia on their bodies.

The phrases written on the two women on the left read 'Fat and healthy,' and,

"What people see when they think of beautiful is subjective," Godoy said. "But I want people to see that every woman is beautiful and sensual independent of her weight."
