MAGIC LOU MEDICAL FUND

Hi Everyone, A very Dear fiend of mine in Law Enforemenct, who is also a great Magician, was involved in a freak accident,  He is facing surgery, with insurance only covering a small portion.  he can barely walk, and his dominant hand is currently numb, leaving it nearly difficult to perform sleight of hand. Please read below, and if you can Please help my friend, every small amount helps/

Lou has spent the last 3 years of his life as a New York State correctional Officer. Before getting into Law Enforcement Lou had a very nice career in the entertainment industry as a very talented magician. He still does it on the side. Unfortunately, on January 31 2015, Lou was involved in a freak accident. He was in the gym trying to rehab a previous injury he sustained on the job in the field. He was on the smith machine performing military presses, and when he was done with his set he locked the bar in place. Somehow the bar unlatched and came crashing down onto the back of Lou's neck resulting in his spine being compressed and fracturing his t-9 and t-10 vertebrae.

He was in St. Luke's Cornwall hospital in Newburgh for a week. They put him in a clamshell brace hoping that because of his age, health, and muscle tone he would heal properly. His right hand also suffered some nerve damage and it is affecting his ability to perform his first love and passion; MAGIC. He was sent to Helen Hayes Hospital Rehabilitation Center for in-patient therapy. His insurance would only cover 2 weeks there and they wouldn't even cover a wheelchair for Lou to get around. His amazing co-workers at Green Haven Correctional Facility stepped in and donated a wheelchair to Lou.

Lou is a very close friend of mine of 15 years, and I want to help him out as much as I can. He is currently in the care of his mom and dad who practically have to care for Lou everyday. A therapist comes to the house 3 times a week to help him with the functioning of his lower body as he can barely walk and gets around as much as he can with a walker. He can only stand for so long. I want to help him with whatever his medical insurance won't cover and to help him financially while he is out of work. Any donation is welcome.
