London may be about to get a pub dedicated to tea.

Brew – which is currently in Crowdfunding stage (obviously) – is the brainchild of tea aficionado and self-proclaimed ‘Entrepreneur and leader of teams’ Alex Holland.

Alex believes loose leaf tea far superior to the bagged stuff, and states that Brew’s mission statement is to ‘restore prestige to our national drink, by converting you to loose leaf tea.’

So, what exactly can we expect from a tea pub?

‘Brew is a place which serves exceptional tea, but instead of in a starkly lit café it’s got the rich atmosphere of a pub.’

‘As well as serving great tea we’ll serve tea cocktails, like earl grey and tonics and Oolong martinis’

‘And light food and cakes matched to the flavour of the teas.’

‘The teas we use will champion small growers and better ways of growing… like Pallabjyoti Nath’

They’ll also be offering work experience placements to ex-offenders, by working with organisations like Switchback.

Alex and his team (which includes food entrepreneurs Giuseppe Mascoli, founder of Franco Manca, and Iqbal Wahhab, founder Roast and Cinnamon Club) plan to open their first Brew in south London, before opening in East London… and then going global (OK, maybe not global, but at least covering London in tea pubs).
