Yes the ancients new their stuff. All”doctors” in that time used only natural herbs to heal all kinds of maladies and most of them were women, in those “dark ages.”  Through apprenticeships the plant knowledge was handed down usually mother to daughter. These curranderas, “witch doctors” medicine people had herbs to help in childbirth, to have an abortion, contraception, and much more. When one lives simply and close to nature without distraction, the plants talk to you.
