valid votes against Nick Benn; Megan Kendall for Female Welfare Officer 77 (59.23%) of 130 valid votes - beating out Olivia Murphy; Events Officer Juliet Branfield stood uncontested and won with 115 (85.82%) of 134 valid votes; Sinead Purser won Publicity Officer on 82 (62.12%) of 132 valid votes over Magdalena McGilvray, and the new Web Development Officer is Sarah Morris who won uncontested with 91 (70.54%) of 129 valid votes. This position received the highest number of RON votes - 38. The only other uncontested position of Events Officer received only 19, with fewer spoilt papers (6 over 11). Branfield joins Rhiannon HopkinsJones in the Events team alongside additional officers previously elected: Paul Casey (LGBT+) and Edric Summers (Student Activities). Megan Kendall joins Caleb Assirati to make up the female/male welfare team. This leaves Heythrop Student’s Union without a Campaigns officer for the time being.

Percentage of 136 Valid Presidential Votes Cast

The Heythrop Student’s Union Byelection saw Oliver Holdsworth beat out rival Jenny Moran with 86 votes to 40, winning a 63.24% majority. Of 634 eligible students, 140 votes were cast - roughly 22% of the populous. This is down 13.5% from last year’s main elections. Holdsworth will be joined by new Vice-President Stefan Barratt in their recently created, non-sabbatical roles for 2015/16. Instead of taking a year out, the paid position will be maintained part-time, alongside their studies. This role-adaptation came after zero presidential and vice-presidential candidates were nominated for the main elections this year. Barratt won 53 votes (38.97%) of 136 valid votes, defeating Stephanie Brown by a mere 3 votes (50 votes, 36.76%). Daniel Tobin gained 23 votes (16.91%) and both roles received 10 RON votes (re-open nominations) at 7.35%. On the Heythrop Student’s Union, the pair will be joined by Satchi Mahendran who won 67 (50.76%) of 132
