Hi everybody. My name is Dave Gibson - the former lead singer of the Academy of Country Music Award-winning Gibson-Miller Band. I’m also a Nashville songwriter who – during the past 35 years – has been fortunate enough to write several Top 40 hits – including six that went to Number 1 – for Alabama, Steve Wariner, Tanya Tucker, Confederate Railroad, Montgomery Gentry and Joe Diffie.
Earlier this year, I was asked by my friend, songwriter, and retired Army Captain, Carl Conge to write a theme song for a veteran’s organization. As fate would have it, the song ended up inspiring Carl and I to form a company called Save Another Patriot .
The primary mission of Save Another Patriot is increase awareness of the number of physical and mental health problems affecting many of our military service members, our veterans, and their families – families whose troubles and grieving are sometimes overlooked, or forgotten. We are doing this GoFundMe project in an effort to raise money to:
Produce and promote an album of songs that tell poignant stories of military life
To create and produce videos for the first two singles off of the album
And to create, produce, and promote a line of merchandise designed to promote awareness of issues such as PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and suicide among our veterans.
A generous portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Warriors for Freedom Foundation - and its sister organization – Folds of Honor .
Some of the greatest writers and artists in Nashville have stepped forward to offer their support and assistance on this project. Darryl Worley (who co-wrote and performed the songs “Have You Forgotten ” and “I Just Came Back From a War ”); Joe Diffie (who performed my song “Ships That Don’t Come In ”), and Clint Daniels (who sang and wrote “A Fools Progress ” and “When I Grow Up ”) have already agreed to perform on the album, and we expect that several other iconic artists will be soon be coming on board.
This project is, without a doubt, the most personally rewarding thing I have ever been involved with, and I sincerely hope that you will help with your generosity for this worthy cause. Thank you for your support.
