Pro12: Scarlets lock Kelly forced to retire
- Published
Scarlets lock Richard Kelly has been forced to retire after failing to recover from a broken arm.
He suffered the injury in October, 2014 in the European Cup against Leicester Tigers.
That was one of the 27-year-old's 43 appearances for the Llanelli-based region, who he joined in 2012 from Swansea RFC.
Kelly has already started coaching Carmarthen Quins' forwards and be a Scarlets academy skills coach.
"It is hugely disappointing to have to call a day on my playing career but the injury to my arm has made it impossible for me to carry on.
