Kelowna Falcons

All-WCL

A pair of Falcons have been honoured by the West Coast League (WCL) for their outstanding play in 2017.

Shortstop Taylor Wright (pictured) became the most productive Falcons hitter in franchise history.   He finished hitting .337 and set new team records with 69 hits, 11 homeruns and 54 RBIs.

Defensively Wright showed his outstanding range and his incredible baseball IQ along with an extremely strong arm from anywhere on the field.

Wright has been named a West Coast League First Team All-Star.

Also recognized by the WCL is right handed pitcher Cal Hehnke.  He was 4-0 this summer with a 3.16 ERA in 11 appearances and struck out 52.

He joined Wright at the 2017 WCL All-Star Game back in July where he threw one inning and fanned two batters.

He’s been named a West Coast League Second Team All-Star.

The Falcons thank their fans for an outstanding summer in 2017 and plans are already underway for the 2018 season, the Falcons 18th in Kelowna.
