Help MS History Come Alive

Please consider helping me and my students purchase an online subscription to TCI's History Alive curriculum. We are trying to raise $600 to buy web access to a high quality, inquiry-based curriculum for the 2015-2016 school year. 

During my first two years of teaching, I had bold dreams for the kind of lessons and units I would teach. Without ever having an official curriculum provided by my school, I spent hours  each week organizing and creating teaching materials.   Too  often my efforts fell flat, and I left school feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by all the work I had to do just to make sure my students had something to learn the following day. As I reflect on the last two years, I realize that I spent the bulk of my time creating a curriculum that taught my students the required social studies content, but due to my own time limiations, I was unable to perform many other important tasks such as giving my students timely and specific feedback, modifying lessons/units/projects to fit the context of my school , and creating a sense of classroom community that would allow my students to thrive in the face of serious challenges.  In order to cut back on my planning time and make room for other key aspects of teaching (and to make my life easier) I'm creating this gofundme project. In 20 days, I hope to raise $600 in order to purchase an online subscription for TCI's History Alive Curriculum for my 6th and 7th grade students.  History Alive is a high quality inquiry-based curriculum that provides teachers with all the handouts, visuals, and texts needed to teach a Middle School Social Studies Course. I  believe that if I have access to TCI's lessons and materials, I can use these resources as a baseline curriculum that will allow me to deliver more meaningful instruction than ever before, while mainting a healthier work/life balance.  Please consider helping my students and me by contributing to the costs of these resources!
