Natasha Lee Olson, age 30, is a beautiful and courageous soul who has been diagnosed with Stage 4, non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to her brain, liver, lymphnodes, adrenal gland, carotid space, and pre-tracheal region. Per Natasha’s Pulmonary Specialist and medical team, she is the youngest woman they have personally come in contact with, with this rare diagnoses. In response to this tragic diagnosis, we are forming a crusade, which we call, TEAM TASH, to raise awareness and help alleviate some of the financial challenges for her and her family as they face this long road of recovery. Natasha has become adamant about raising awareness in this area, even if it means enrolling herself in studies and clinical trials. She won’t quit fighting and she won’t quit until she makes a difference!

Diagnosis History:
In January 2017, Natasha began to drastically feel the symptoms of her illness. Throughout this journey, she has been misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Pneumonia, Pleurisy, FNH Tumors, migraine headaches, and vertigo. Natasha saw several doctors, underwent several scans & blood tests, and was and out of hospitals and extended cares. Aside from the multitude of physical symptoms she was experiencing, Natasha’s life began to drastically change in all other areas as well. She was no longer able to work and unable to enjoy regular activities. She stopped being able to do the things that she loved, like dance, go to concerts, raves, play softball, etc. She developed intense social anxiety and began to see those around her that she thought were her friends slowly disappear. Additionally, not knowing what was wrong with her and constantly feeling like she was not being heard was emotionally wearing her down. She began to fall apart spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

On July 12, 2017, Natasha went to the ER after battling intense migraines, vertigo, nausea, vomiting & fainting episodes. She was quickly admitted into the ICU after doctors discovered a mass in her brain, the size of a golf ball. The following day, Natasha underwent an emergency brain surgery to remove the tumor.

On July 16, 2017 Natasha’s results came back as stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer (lung cancer that is due to a genetic mutation), metastasized to her brain, liver, lymphnodes, adrenal gland, carotid space, and pre-tracheal region. Per Natasha’s Pulmonary Specialist and medical team, she is the youngest woman they have personally come in contact with, and is therefore extremely uncommon for a healthy and active 29-year old woman. Doctors are confident that radiation, oral therapies, and clinical trials hold significant hope.

About Natasha Lee:

In 2009 Natasha graduated with a BA in Psychology from California State University-Northridge and received her Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling from Cal Lutheran in 2011. Natasha continues to dedicate her life to helping others recover from trauma-based experiences. Since becoming diagnosed and becoming aware that she has this extremely rare diagnoses, she has begun to talk about potentially working with young oncology patients therapeutically to assist them in the recovery process once she wins this battle! Natasha has been sober for almost a decade. She is devoted to helping recovering alcoholics and addicts. As a truly humble, loving and compassionate soul, she has touched many lives and leads the way through example and action for many men and women in recovery. In fact, while in the ICU room, Natasha met with one of her sponsee’s to continue their work. Natasha’s true passion is playing softball. She coaches and plays on a team of sober women, and plays on a coed sober team as well. As a coach and teammate, Natasha has played a huge role in creating a welcoming, positive, and supportive environment for women who are new to sobriety. Natasha has been with her now husband, Kurtis, for about two years. Kurtis has and continues to remain by her side during this difficult time and is committed to the rearrangement of life’s priorities to support her. Natasha’s greatest life aspiration is to be a mother.

Join TEAM TASH

OUR fight has only just begun. Because this diagnosis is so rare, there are advanced treatments but they are extremely expensive and she needs our help. Now is our chance to give back to Natasha that which she has freely given (and continues to give) to others. We are asking you to join our fight for her life. As a part of TEAMTASH we invite you to sport new hair colors – purple for the girls and platinum for the boys. All donations are truly appreciated no matter your individual ability to donate; we also truly appreciate prayers and positive vibes. If you are unable to provide monetary contributions, there is still so much you can do to help: please share her story and please pray for her full recovery. Let’s get this girl back on the playing field.
