Wow, this is a nice little list. Certainly gives me some ideas of books to read later. It even reminded me of titles I had wanted to read, but forgot for one reason or another.

Driving Over Lemons, although it does, luckily, have some described eating in it or they wouldn't have been able to sustain the arduous, and gently amusing, family move from England to Spain, doesn't really fit this category.
This list is fabulous, I've read quite a few of them but there are so many left to read on this list - can't wait to get started!
Why are the following on this list? Should they be deleted?
#76 - A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius (I have not read this so I could be missing something here...)
#107 - The New Best Recipe (cookbook)
#147 - The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2006
#153 - The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2007
#168 - The Control of Nature
#199 - How to Cook Everything (cookbook)
#209 - You Shall Know Us by Our Velocity (novel)
#245 - Practical Bengali Grammar (grammar book!?!)
#247 - Zen Yoga (yoga)
#258 - Down and Out in London
#264 - The Sweet Potato Queens' First Big-Ass Novel
#276 - The 2012 Book Blogger's Cookbook
#283 - Bengali: A Comprehensive Grammar (grammar again)
#284 - Breathe Smart: The Secret to Happiness (????)
#290 - The Rusty Parrot Cookbook
#299 - The 2011 Book Blogger's Cookbook
#303 - Outlaw Woman: A Memoir of the War Years (activist memoir?)
#309 - Bengali Grammar (again!)
#341 - Unknown book (anyone know what it was?)
#342 - My Side of the Mountain (novel)
#356 - Rose En Marche (novel)

I went through and deleted the most obvious miscategorized ones - the cookbooks, novels, grammar books, and yoga books. I left in A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.
I originally voted on How To Eat: The Pleasures and Principles of Good Food by Nigella Lawson but then reconsidered and removed my vote, as this Listopia is about "Non-cookbook non-fiction books" amd Nigella's book may be non-fiction but it definitely is a cookbook (and I use is as such...)
Great list! Now if I can only find a way to "favourite" this list so that I can easily return to it next time I log in.
It's a shame that somebody went through the trouble of having 52 of her 'author review circle' friends vote her book onto the wrong list, but My Greek Traditional Cook Book 1, being a cook book, does not belong on this list. I volunteer to remove it.
Starting on page 6, #496, there are about a dozen books that are either cookbooks (stated in the title) or have nothing whatsoever to do with food (something about how to use Amazon??)

Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius has long passages dedicated to food, whole chapters, even, because he and his brother are notoriously picky eaters and he lists foods they will and will not eat
