Tubman Appoints Kolesnik As Assistant to the Director of Athletics

Philadelphia, Pa. - (7/29/2014) – With continued departmental success and an ever expanding sport catalog, Chestnut Hill College Director of Athletics and Recreation Lynn Tubman is pleased to announce that appointment of Head Women's Volleyball Coach Kim Kolesnik to the role of Assistant to the Director of Athletics. A full-time position, the Assistant to the Director of Athletics provides administrative support to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and departmental staff members with day-to-day operations and special projects.
 
Kolesnik took the reins of the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball program in 2008. Under her direction, the Griffins have continued to improve as members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), recently reaching their first CACC Championship Tournament in 2011. That same year, Kolesnik joined the Chestnut Hill College undergraduate faculty as an adjunct communications professor. Since then Kolesnik has expanded her role, assuming admissions duties as an Applications Manager Assistant in 2014.
 
A 2007 graduate of Cabrini College who led the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) in digs in 2005, Kolesnik served the Cavaliers as a defensive specialist and libero during their rise from a non-contender to a semifinal participant in each of her final three seasons. An exemplary student-athlete, Kolesnik collected several collegiate academic accolades including the Cabrini College Female Scholar Athlete of the Year (2006-2007), the Philadelphia Inquirer Women's Volleyball Academic All-Area Team (2005 & 2006), and the PAC All-Academic Team (2003-2006). She graduated magna cum laude with bachelor degrees in both psychology and english/communication before earning a master's in communications at Villanova University (2010).
