Weekly responsorial psalms for the Mass. Delivered to your inbox.
<<First Name>>,

Greetings and peace to you!

It's humbling and amazing at the same time to know that you came upon my humble website and decided to sign up for the mailing list. I can only attribute it to God's blessing (for I did nothing on my own) that you're reading this.

Pardon My Absence

First off, apologies for my long absence. To be perfectly honest, I was unsure whether I would be able to continue with composing weekly responsorial psalms because of a perfect storm of circumstances: firstly there was a general feeling of burnout and writer's block which made it difficult to compose; then I got laid off from my last full-time job around June of 2012, which meant I became a freelancer and Chief Babysitting Officer at home and thus had even less time to dedicate to music.

But, Liturgical Year C is soon coming to a close and Year A will soon be upon us once again. And I have enough material now to go back to the MassMusic Song index and start filling in the missing gaps where I wasn't able to compose anything.

So here then are my musical settings for the responsorial psalms of Christ the King Sunday and the four Sundays of Advent

for Nov. 24, 2013: Christ the King

November 24 is the feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe (Christ the King)
The Mass Readings are here: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/112413.cfm
The responsorial psalm is: Let Us Go Rejoicing (Psalm 122). (PDF music piece and video are available)

for Dec. 1, 2013: 1st Sunday of Advent, Year A

The responsorial psalm is the same as the previous week: Let Us Go Rejoicing (Psalm 122). (PDF music piece and video are available)

Take note: The response and the first 3 verses are exactly the same as the week before. But for this Sunday there is a 4th and a 5th verse which I don't have music for.  If you need to sing all 5 verses, feel free to improvise and fit the words into the existing melody. And I'd love to hear your version if you do! (Send me a video link or an MP3.)

for Dec. 8, 2013: 2nd Sunday of Advent, Year A

The mass readings are here: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/120813.cfm
The responsorial psalm is: Justice Shall Flourish  (Psalm 72). (PDF music piece, MP3 download and video are available)

for Dec 15, 2013: 3rd Sunday of Advent, Year A

The mass readings are here: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/121513.cfm
The responsorial psalm is: Lord, Come and Save Us (Psalm 146): (video, handwritten PDF music sheet and MP3)

for Dec. 22, 2013: 4th Sunday of Advent, Year A

The mass readings are here: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/122213.cfm

The MassMusic Song Index

Check the Song Index

If you're looking for a specific responsorial psalm, then check my MassMusic Song Index on Google Docs. It lists every psalm I've ever composed, the scripture it's based on, the liturgical year it's for, which Sunday it's on, and links to the webpage, the Youtube page (if any), and the Scribd page. Basically, it's the database that tells you where everything is, and it may be useful in trying to track down a psalm for a specific Sunday. Check it out.
