Actor Harrison Ford is reportedly in “fair to moderate” condition after crashing a small plane in Venice, California on Thursday. Other outlets are reporting that he sustained serious injuries, but has stabilized.
The 72-year-old actor, who is currently set to reprise his role of Han Solo in J.J. Abrams’ new Star Wars movie was the only person on board the plane when it crashed on Penmar Golf Course. He was taken to the hospital from the scene.

An employee of the golf course told NBC News, “There was blood all over his face … Two very fine doctors were treating him, taking good care of him. I helped put a blanket under his hip.”
Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to NBC Los Angeles that the plane crashed shortly after taking off from the Santa Monica Airport.
UPDATE — 7:30 p.m. ET: Patrick Butler, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department told reporters in a press conference that Ford left the scene in “fair to moderate” condition and was conscious and was “alert, conscious and breathing.”

UPDATE — 7:40 p.m. ET: TMZ obtained and posted audio of Ford speaking to air traffic controllers shortly after takeoff from the Santa Monica Airport. You can hear the actor say the words “engine failure” near the start of the short clip.
