Tigers attending NHL prospect camps

Five members of Colorado College's 2014-15 ice hockey team are getting a taste of the National Hockey League by participating in prospect camps this summer.

The current Tigers training with NHL clubs include senior defensemen Aaron Harstad and Peter Stoykewych (Winnipeg), junior left wing Hunter Fejes (Phoenix) and sophomore defenseman Jaccob Slavin (Carolina).

One incoming freshman – defenseman Teemu Kivihalme (Nashville) – also is participating.

Some of the activities the six players will experience include strength and conditioning, video analysis, skills and skating training, and scrimmage sessions.

The CC contingent is among the nearly 300 active and future collegiate players representing 53 of 59 Division I programs.

Colorado College opens its 2014-15 campaign on Sunday, Oct. 5, when it plays host to McGill University at 6:07 p.m. at the Broadmoor World Arena.
