“Death Note: Light Up The New World” in Philippine cinemas on March 15

The new Death Note live-action movie “Light Up The New World” is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas next month.

The film will be released on March 15, 2017 by Pioneer Films .

The story takes places after ten years after the last battle between L and Light. Shinigami sends death notes to the ground and the human world once again falls into chaos.

Tsukuru Mishima, following the footsteps of the late Soichiro Yagami, now leads a new Death Note Task Force to investigate the mass murders along with world famous private investigator Ryusaki, who is regarded as the true successor of L. They discover that there are six Death notes exist the world.

As the investigation continues, a computer virus called “Kira virus” spreads across the world. A message in the virus says to turn in all death notes.  A person who has all 6 death notes would have the ability to rule the world.

The battle between the person who want Kira’s revival and the people who to stop it begins.

The film is based on the best-selling supernatural action manga series of the same name written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata.

“Death Note: Light Up The New World” is the fourth film in the Death Note live-action film series and it premiered on October 29, 2016 in Japan.

Pioneer Film teased the movie trailer last year.
