Mark Hamill says anyone can pretend to be Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, including women.
The 64-year-old actor, best known for bringing the Skywalker character to life in the Star Wars saga, was asked by a female fan on social media whether it was OK that she dress as his character to attend Comic Con, adding that she was planning on it no matter what.
Hamill responded: “Gender matters not when you’re rocking the Force like you are, baby! #FantasticallyForcefulFemme #JoltinJediJessica.”

Hamill was responding to this tweet:
@HamillHimself can I go to comic con as Luke Skywalker even though I’m a girl? I’m doing it anyways 🙂 #wigsarefun pic.twitter.com/D1iSERLDem

Hamill has an impressive Twitter audience — more than 1.1 million followers — and often interacts with his fans on the social media platform.
Last December, around the time of the latest installment of Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens, was released by Disney, Hamill made headlines for using social media to help stop his fans from getting ripped off by merchandise dealers who peddled fake autographs.
Hamill is currently filming in Episode VIII.
