van de Veerdonk named to President's Team at World Lacrosse Championships

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Jordan McBride, who led Scotland to its best finish ever, sixth, with a team-high 38 points, was one of 10 players named to the President's team at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship, presented by Trusted Choice.
 
One of the 10 players named was 2013 graduate and two-time All-American, Jimmy van de Veerdonk, who played for the Netherlands in this year's championships.  In seven games during the tournament, in which the Netherlands finished in 16th place, van de Veerdonk scored 15 goals and assisted on three others for 18 points.  He won 93 face-offs, which was the second most for the entire tournament, while being seventh overall in face-off win percentage of .674.  He also collected 69 ground balls, which put him second overall in ground balls per game of 9.86.
 
The team, consisting of the top 10 players in the tournament not competing in the Blue Division, was named prior to the start of the championship game between Canada and the United States. The awards were presented by FIL Men's Director Jack Emmer. McBride was one of four Scotland players named to the team, including his brother, Jimmy.
