Disturbance, Brisbane CBD

Police have charged a 46-year-old man following an incident in the Brisbane CBD today.

It will be alleged around 10.30am police responded to a man creating a disturbance on George Street.

When officers approached the man he allegedly produced a knife. Police directed the man to drop the knife and he complied.

The man was taken into custody without further incident.

He was charged with one count each of serious assault of police, going armed so as to cause fear, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of a dangerous drug and public nuisance.

The man is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
