Why this petition matters

Started by Nick Robinson

Tony Blair has today courted the media and urged voters to consider voting Tory or Lib Dem in the General Election, 'where candidates keep an open mind on Brexit'.

This is a woeful breach of party rules; similar to historical offenses that led to the suspension of many party members during last year's party leadership election.

Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Leadership have put up 12 robust conditions that Brexit negotiations must satisfy to gain parliamentary approval; and accusations made by Tim Farron and, more appallingly, Tony Blair, today that Labour is peddling a Tory Brexit are false, cynical and in Blair's case unacceptable.

We, the undersigned call on the NEC to suspend Tony Blair immediately while we devote all our energies to ensuring a Labour general election victory.
